AlBaraka Symposium for Islamic Economy began its activity as a Shariaah-based and economic forum, and represents the cornerstone in the development of Islamic economic work in terms of both the jurisprudential and technical aspects. It continued to be held regularly every year during the blessed month of Ramadan. Since its launch in 1981, the Symposium has been held in several cities, including: Medina, Mecca, Jeddah, Damascus, Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, Beirut, Istanbul, Tunis, Algiers, and Amman. Thanks to Allah (Glory be to Him), Fatwas (advisory opinions) and recommendations issued at AlBaraka Symposium for Islamic Economy have become a fundamental scientific reference and a basis for enriching the research and Fatwas issued by the Shariaah bodies of Islamic banks and financial institutions, as well as Jurisprudence complexes, and various bodies and organizations worldwide. Many resolutions and recommendations of Shariaah bodies, Jurisprudence complexes, and different bodies and organizations rely heavily on this legacy of Fatwas, recommendations, and research produced by the Symposium.
