Communication and Media Officer

Location: Cairo, Egypt. Employment Type: Full-time. Start Date: As soon as possible. Department: Communication & Media Department. Direct Supervisor: Communication & Media Supervisor. Department Manager: Communication & Media Manager. Travel Requirement: This position requires flexibility and willingness to travel locally and internationally whenever required for events, media engagements, meetings, programs, and organizational activities as necessary required.

Assignment Terms

  • Initial assignment period: 6 months.
  • The first 3 months will be considered an evaluation period.
  • Extension of the assignment may be considered based on performance evaluation, organizational needs, and position availability.
Preferred Industry: Non-Profit Organizations, Development Sector, Media, Communications, or Related Fields.

About the Role

Al Baraka Forum for Islamic Economy is seeking a talented and motivated Communication & Media Officer to support the implementation of communication, media, and marketing activities across the organization. The successful candidate will contribute to content development, media relations, digital communications, event promotion, sponsorship support, and stakeholder engagement activities while helping strengthen the Forum’s visibility and impact locally, regionally, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Content Development

  • Draft and develop communication content in both Arabic and English.
  • Prepare press releases, newsletters, website content, social media content, reports, speeches, invitations, and marketing materials.
  • Create engaging and impact-driven content that supports the Forum’s mission and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support communication materials and publications.

Media Relations

  • Support the development and maintenance of media and stakeholder databases.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Monitor media coverage and relevant media trends.
  • Support media outreach activities and coordinate interviews and media engagements.

Social Media & Digital Communication

  • Support the implementation of social media content plans.
  • Publish and manage content across digital platforms.
  • Monitor audience engagement and support online community management.
  • Assist in tracking digital performance and preparing reports.

Marketing & Campaign Support

  • Support the implementation of communication and marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in preparing campaign materials and promotional content.
  • Support email marketing activities and communication outreach initiatives.
  • Contribute to maintaining brand consistency across all communication channels.

Events & Program Communication

  • Support communication and promotional activities for conferences, events, and programs.
  • Assist in preparing event-related communication materials.
  • Support media coverage, documentation, and post-event communication activities.
  • Contribute to communication activities related to the Islamic Economy Around the World Program.

Sponsorship & Stakeholder Support

  • Assist in preparing sponsorship proposals, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Support sponsorship activation and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Maintain sponsorship and stakeholder databases.
  • Support communication with sponsors and strategic stakeholders.

Documentation & Media Assets

  • Organize and maintain photographs, videos, media kits, and communication assets.
  • Support the documentation of events, activities, and organizational achievements.
  • Assist in producing communication materials that showcase the Forum’s impact.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Candidates with a Public Relations degree must demonstrate strong media writing and press content development skills.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in media, communications, public relations, marketing, or development-related sectors.
  • Experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred.

Languages

  • Excellent command of Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

Skills

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with website content management systems is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in media relations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience supporting communication campaigns and events.
  • Experience working in international or regional organizations is a plus.

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with strong experience in Laravel and native PHP to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing web applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Laravel and native PHP
  • Build scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs
  • Design and manage databases (MySQL or similar)
  • integrate user-facing elements (Front End)
