Announcement of Young Researchers Hosting Grant Fourth Edition

We are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the “Young Researchers Hosting Grant”, as a part of AlBaraka Symposium (47), scheduled to be held in Madinah in January 2027 under the theme:

“Human Capital in Islamic Banking: The Engine of Growth and Development”.

AlBaraka Forum is keen to invite a select group of outstanding young researchers to attend AlBaraka Symposium, as part of its commitment to supporting emerging scholars, building bridges of communication between them and leading scholars and thinkers in Islamic economics, and giving them the opportunity to engage with some of the most important issues in Islamic economics and finance and to participate in the discussions surrounding them.

Those wishing to benefit from this opportunity are invited to submit an application to AlBaraka Forum.

Grant Eligibility Requirements:

1. The applicant must hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Islamic economics, in any of its fields, with a minimum grade of “Very Good.”
2. The applicant must submit two recommendation letters from academic professors specializing in Islamic economics. The letters must confirm the applicant’s eligibility for the grant, ambition to develop their capabilities, and potential to contribute to Islamic economics in one or more fields.
3. The applicant must have published two academic research papers during the past three years.
4. Priority will be given to applicants who are most in need of such a grant. Therefore, the applicant must be fully dedicated to their studies and must not be employed by any organization or serve as a faculty member at any university.

Benefits and Support:

AlBaraka Forum will cover all expenses of the invited researchers, including round-trip airfare and accommodation costs throughout the duration of the Symposium.
