“Shari’ah and Economic Studies and Research Department” was established as one of “AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy” departments, based on the Forum’s vision of “Global Leadership in Islamic Economy” and from its mission “Develop and Promote the Islamic Economy worldwide” to achieving one of its strategic goals “Enrich the research stock in Islamic Economy and Provide Practical Tools for its Application” in light of contemporary economic challenges and updates. It consists of:
  • Shari’ah Research Unit: The unit encompasses a wide selection of Shari’ah researchers and is concerned with all research and intellectual activities relevant to Islamic economic issues from a Shari’ah perspective. Its main mandates include: Writing specialized scientific research in financial transactions and Islamic economics, writing specialized articles in financial transactions and Islamic economics, book reviews, book presentations, reviewing the annual AlBaraka Symposium research papers, participating in the preparation of AlBaraka Symposium plan and reviewing internal and external research papers, providing promotional content for media with a Shari’ah character, etc.
  • AlBaraka Economic Reports and Studies Unit: is one of the units of the “AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy”. The main mandates of the unit are to prepare theoretical and applied economic research, studies and reports that aim to study and evaluate economic resources, analyze and disseminate economic statistics on the most important economic and social phenomena in the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and prepare economic research, studies and reports that monitor and analyze the reality of Islamic economic institutions globally.
