In a high-level meeting, H.E. Mr. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary-General of AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, met with His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, Sultan of Perak, Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, and Royal Patron of Malaysia’s Islamic Finance Initiative.
The meeting featured a valuable exchange of views on key developments in the Islamic economy and Islamic finance, as well as their evolving role in addressing contemporary economic priorities and contributing to sustainable and inclusive development. The discussions also explored opportunities to strengthen dialogue, knowledge exchange, and future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, H.E. the Secretary-General also presented His Royal Highness with one of the Forum’s key knowledge publications, the First AlBaraka Strategic Report on Islamic Economy. Published as a five-yearly strategic report, it examines the institutional structure of the Islamic economy, identifies key trends and knowledge gaps, and contributes to strengthening the global knowledge base supporting the development of the sector.
