During his participation in the first session of the AAOifi 23rd Annual Shari’ah Boards Conference, a discussion session titled “Sustainability in Training Professionals in the Islamic Financial Industry”, H.E. Mr. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General, AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, emphasized the importance of professional certifications in various fields such as financial services, law, and human resources. He explained that these certifications provide more support to job candidates compared to academic university degrees, as they combine deep knowledge with practical experience. He also pointed out that professional certifications reduce the costly internal training period, helping organizations save time and effort.
His Excellency further noted that, despite the long-standing presence of Islamic finance as part of the Islamic financial system, it is still in its early stages in terms of professional certifications. He argued that the need for professional certifications in this field is more urgent due to the unique characteristics of the industry. He added that the existence and diversity of these certifications, along with the institutions offering them, are crucial for the continued development of the Islamic financial industry, stressing the importance of encouraging and developing them to achieve better results.
