H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, Secretary General of the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, as part of his efforts to enhance international cooperation and apply the principles of Islamic economics, paid a visit to the Thai capital, Bangkok. During which he met with His Eminence Sheikh Arun Boonchom, Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, gifting him valuable publications of the AlBaraka Symposium, most notably the book “Resolutions and Recommendations of AlBraka Islamic Economics Symposium”, which provides comprehensive documentation of Shariah decisions in the Islamic economy around the world.
H.E. Mr. Khalawi also held a meeting with Mr. Areephen Utarasin, Chief Advisor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the National Assembly of Thailand, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Forum and officials in Thailand in the field of economic policy development. The discussions focused on how to adopt policies that promote social equity and shared prosperity, which contribute to building a more balanced global economic system and support the ability of the Islamic economy to be a leading model in achieving comprehensive development.
These meetings come within the framework of the vision of the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy to boost its role in the international arena, by adopting strategies that contribute to achieving sustainable economic development in accordance with the principles of Islamic Shariah and working to create an integrated and fair economic system.
