H.E. Prof. Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayad, Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, received H.E. Mr. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy. During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation between the Forum and Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta, as well as ways to enhance scholarly and knowledge-based work in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Mr. Khalawi reviewed the Forum’s key activities, foremost among them AlBaraka Symposium for Islamic Economy in Madinah and the Global Islamic Economy Summit in Istanbul, particularly highlighting AlBaraka Symposium (46), held in Shaaban/February of this year under the theme: “The Righteousness and Benevolence in Islamic Economy: The Future Forward”, which represented a distinctive and first-of-its-kind approach, in terms of both level and format, to addressing this topic.

The two sides emphasized that official religious institutions enjoy special credibility among the public, which strengthens their role in raising awareness of Islamic economy topics, particularly those related to the importance of regulating Waqf and Zakat and activating their developmental and social impact.

H.E. Mr. Khalawi also presented the Mufti with a number of the Forum’s publications, including the first AlBaraka Strategic Report, which marks the Forum’s pioneering step toward developing an integrated reporting framework tailored to the Islamic economy.
